About Us

EmpoWell is in the coastal city of Powell River, British Columbia, Canada. The area that is now known as Wildwood was once a dense forest wilderness before loggers moved in during the late 1800s. It took decades to clear the forest before farmers were able to settle in and a townsite was built. The first settlers arrived in the late 1800s and early 1900s and were primarily homesteaders, who cleared the land and established farms. The community continued to grow with the construction of the Powell River pulp and paper mill in the 1940s, which brought more people to the area. Wildwood developed into a popular vacation spot in the 1920s and 1930s, with visitors coming to enjoy the area’s natural beauty and recreational opportunities. Wildwood is a nature-lover’s paradise, offering miles of hiking trails, fishing, and a mild climate. The community’s rural charm and dedication to preserving its natural surroundings create a peaceful environment for visitors. With numerous campgrounds available, Wildwood is the perfect destination for travelers seeking to immerse themselves in the beauty of British Columbia’s wilderness.

Our Director

EmpoWell’s director, Mr. Lu, owns over 650 acres of prime real estate and intends to fully leverage for development. One of the proposed developments is “Powell River Resort” which is a sustainability-oriented mixed use resort development on Lund Street at the southeastern extent of Wildwood, across Powell River from Townsite. The subject site is located on approximately 12.4 hectares (30.6 acres) of undeveloped lands, formerly owned by Catalyst Paper. The project will establish a world-class health education campus capable of sustaining over 2,400 students, with rental-housing dormitory, education facilities, community recreation and supportive commercial services.

The project will provide significant local investment opportunity, further contributing to the City’s economy, and offer a mix of sustainability-oriented amenities for locals and visitors alike, contributing to the social infrastructure of the community. The success of this development rests on a strong Business Opportunity Cooperation with the Tla’amin First Nation, entered on April 6, 2017, focusing on areas of Agricultural Technology Development, Marine & Seafood Business, and Tourism.
